During Term 1 students from Marist Catholic College Penshurst compete in the Catholic Schools Debating (CSDA) Competition. The vast majority of Catholic schools in Sydney participate in this competition. Each year the students from Marist Catholic College perform extremely well with a number of students scoring a place each year. As well as opportunities to represent the College, one of the requirements of the English curriculum is that each year group has a speaking component as part of their assessment in English.
In Term 3 the College participates in the Marist Oratory compeition. This annual event sees Marist Schools from all over the nation come together for one evening to showcase their finest orators. In 2015 Marist Catholic College Penshurst was placed first in this competition, a first for Penshurst. We look forward to continued success in the years ahead.
