In 2015 with the support of Sydney Catholic Schools the College commenced coeducation in Year 7. The transition from a boys’ school to coeducation has been thoroughly researched and planned. In 2014 the College participated in a number of educational workshops for students and staff in preparation for the change. The College is a steadfast supporter of the ‘White Ribbon’ initiative that focuses on respect for women.
The presence of the girls has been a wonderful edition to the social fabric of the school and brings a new and exciting chapter to the history of Marist Catholic College. 2017 saw the commencement of the third cohort of girls in Year 7. The 2018 enrolments and beyond have subsequently confirmed the future for gender balance across the year groups at the College.
